Privacy Policy
Summary
CadetPass collects the minimum information needed to operate a TCOLE practice site. During the free public beta we don't store any data on a server — your practice progress, missed-question history, and registration email (if you create a Free Practice Pass) live only in your browser's local storage. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not set tracking cookies and do not track you across other sites.
What we collect
- Information you provide. If you create a Free Practice Pass, we collect the email address you submit. If you contact us, we collect the email address and any content you include in your message.
- Practice activity (local-only). Your progress, missed questions, and history of attempts are stored in your browser's
localStorage. This data does not leave your device unless we explicitly add a server-side feature in the future and you opt in to it. - Usage analytics. We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (Plausible) that records aggregate page-view data — the page you viewed, your approximate country, the referring site, and your device type — without using cookies and without recording any personally identifying information.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps, user-agent strings) for operational and security purposes. These logs are not used to build a profile of you.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; to respond to support inquiries you send us; to detect and prevent abuse, spam, and security threats; and to comply with applicable law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Third parties we use
- Cloudflare — static site hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection.
- Plausible Analytics — aggregate, cookie-free analytics.
- Email — if you contact us at [email protected], your message is processed by our email provider for delivery and storage.
When we add paid plans we will use a payment processor (e.g., Stripe) to handle billing. The processor will collect payment information directly — we do not see or store your full card number. We will update this policy at that time.
Cookies and similar technologies
CadetPass does not currently set tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage to remember your practice progress and (if you registered) your Free Practice Pass email. You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser's settings; doing so will reset your progress.
Your choices
- Practice without an account. You can use the Service anonymously. No email or sign-up is required for free practice during the beta.
- Delete your data. Clearing your browser's site data for cadetpass.com removes everything we have stored about you locally. To request deletion of any account information held on our side (when paid accounts launch), email [email protected].
- Opt out of analytics. Plausible respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and the "Do Not Track" header. If your browser sends either, you will not be counted.
Data retention
Email addresses you submit through Free Practice Pass registration or our contact form are retained until you ask us to delete them. Aggregate analytics data is retained by Plausible for the period defined by their default retention policy.
Children
CadetPass is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
California, EU, and other regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to our processing of it, or to data portability. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
